Wu1Lai2 or Wu2Lai4?
We got up bright and early today wanting to take the HSR to Taichung and then take a bus to the famous Sun Moon Lake. But after a chat with the hotel's friendly receptionist, we changed our minds. It takes 4 hours to travel to Sun Moon Lake one way and to enjoy the famous lake, it is recommended to stay overnight at the lake. We are leaving tomorrow so that is not possible.
The receptionist recommended we go visit Taipei's hot springs instead. We headed to Wulai because we remembered Casey's recommendation and the staff thinks it's a good idea too.
The weather is really hot today, very different from the rainy weather a few days before. Walking about 2km to see the well-hidden Wulai Waterfall from the Wulai Village was the worst decision we have ever made on this trip.
To see this 'famous' Wulai Waterfall, we brave the heat, sun and tired legs to walk from the Wulai village street, along the Lover's Walk to see this mystical Wulai Waterfall. And plus the weather is too hot for any hot spring soaking anyway.
Best part of all these is, we ended up at a nice resturant, tucking into some local food.
Then since there aren't anything much for us to do in Wulai, we went to National Taiwan University and loiter around the campus, pretending to be international students. We bought the uni tee shirts as souvenirs. Yeah we can pretend to have studied there. Haha.
Just in case you can't read, it's 'Tai2 Da4' in plant language
