Bluey Bluey Monday
17 April 2006. In Australia, we have monday after the Easter Sunday as a public holiday too. So me and Ryce decided to drive up to Blue Mountains to do the touristy stuff. Wrong, it was me who did all the driving. I am so proud of myself! We had a blast of a time in the car, although the journey to Blue Mountains was long, we blasted the radio and sang all songs what was broadcasted over the radio as loudly as we could and talked (more bitched) about all the singers.

At lunchtime, we still have not reached the Three Sisters yet. We stopped at a town called Leura at the recommendation of Shae and we spent a lovely part of the afternoon browsing in the picturesque shops and lunching at the Post Office cafe.

I had the delicious duck breast grilled to perfection. Ryce had the lightly battered Blue Mountain whiting fillets and chips. More delicious than any food we have ever eaten. Yummy!

We didn't realise that we were ON the Three Sisters already. We were still searchin the horizons for the image of the Three Sisters. Bimbos....

We are getting ready to go on the Senic World railway to look see. Actually we didn't know what we are in for. Only know it is thrilling and we can see soemthing at the end of the ride

The ride was so thrilling. The carriage went on a almost 90 degrees incline and it was so fast and thrilling down the slope. I tried to take some pics but they were all a blur and I gave up.
What did we see at the end of the ride? Cool stuff! Check these out.

THE THREE SISTERS! And we just realised we were on top on one sister's head just now. Haha!

At the foot of the railway, we decided to take a leisurely 10 min walk into the pathed tracks to see the fauna of Blue Mountains. We will reach the cable car where it can take us back to our car.

We found out that Blue Mountains have unqiue rock formations and have streaks of lime in them to have them formed into weird shapes after centuries of weathering. We also learnt that mining was the main activity back in the olden days, resulting in wonderful cave formations that we didnt have time to visit that day. We vowed to come back and do the caves the next time.

At the end of the walking track, we came to the cable car station. It was suppose to be good, and it was good.

View from inside the cable car. Cool!

By the time we were back at the main Senic World office, it was already 4pm. Kind staff warned us about the horrific traffic jams on the Great Western Highway into Sydney as today is the last day of the the holidays and we hurried back to Sydney. True enough, it was jammed all the way to Penrith and we were stuck for at least 3 hours. But nevertheless the company is great and we took some sunset pics.

End to a great touristy day.
