1 May 2006 - Labour Day

Hooray....today is Labour Day in Singapore but in Australia, we do not celebrate May 1 as a Labour Day and therefore I have to work today. Tired, sick and depress.

The weekend was horrendous. My sister came and we went out and shop and eat and drink. Not to bad considering food and drinks paid for by Shae. She was so generous. On Friday, we went to Establishment. Shae was all pumped up and freely ordered drinks for everyone. We had Moets after Moets. This is life man. My sis got approached so much, that I think the whole place know my sis's name before the night ends. One guy approached Shae. Not bad! No one approached me, for the records.

On sat, we went to eat the Mah La Huo Guo. Spicy steamboat to battle the luke-cold autumn winds. Prior to that, Shae spent about $700 on clothes. Me and my sis? Could only stand aside and gloat. :(

The steamboat was nice. But I think I had a tad too much spicy food and got sore throat. I started coughing as well and by the night end, I could only pretty much croaked into the mircophone at the karaoke place. I wanna sing my Wang Lihong song!! But I could not. :(

Sunday service was great! But my croaking voice did not do justice to the praise and worship and I could only just barely reach the high notes before sreeching soundlessly into the microphone. My head was pounding throughout the service and I quickly prayed for healing cos after service, I had to talk to some new Korean people and get them to some for cell group on Thurs.

Sidetrack....
I learnt some new Korean phrases:
1) Chageya - lovely lady. used by Korean men when they wanna flirt with pretty girls.
2) Chiogeyo - Ooi!
Do you notice the difference? A slight pronunciation difference have such different meaning to a phrase.

After service, we went for coffees and I ordered English Breakfast with honey cos my poor little throat could not take it anymore. I also shared a sticky date pudding with James, but when the cake came, everyone just dip a spoon into the cake and it was gone in a jiffy!

We decided to go to Miracle, the Asian supermarket at World Square to buy century egg, salted egg and minced chicken to cook porridge at Raymond's place. He stayed in this uber cool place at Moorepark. He stays in the 23rd floor, with expansive view of Sydney city from his living room and south Sydney in his bedroom. The apartment is so big, that we joked that he can fit in 3 refuges in his living room and they would have space to roll about at night. Haha. 3 bedrooms, 3000AUD a month as rent. Steep!

I cooked porridge, Raymond grilled skinless chicken thighs and Gina, his housemate, cooked beef in special Korean sauce and enoki mushrooms. We had a cosy dinner together, me, Jessmyn, Raymond, Steven and Gina.

After dinner we had this mini movie marathon where we watched Left Behind 1 and 2. It was a very good movie where it featured people who are left behind in the world after The Rapture. All righteous people taken up to heaven and left the others in the world and how the left behind Christains struggled why they were not taken and doing more work for God to win more people to Christ. Quite a different perspective of the Revelations in the Bible.

So back to being tired, sick and depress.

The weekend was so hectic and full of activities, I was so so tired.
I have sore throat, cough and a deep sexy voice.
And I am depressed.
Depress Depress Depress
I put on so much weight!!
I hate myself now everytime i looked into the mirror.
After the wedding, my body is still acceptable to me. I have fats of course, but it is nicely packed.
Now, I have flabby arms, thunder thighs, big tummy and generally grew one size bigger.
I know it is my fault for eating too much and not excercising enuff, but now I am so miserable that I dunno wat to do anymore. Everytime I struggled into my clothes or I see my reflection on the mirror outside when sitting down with friends or colleagues for food, I see my fats amplified because I sat down. And I will feel so sad about myself that I mourn quietly and dun really talk much. Sian. Sian. Sian.

Is there a miracle drug out there to control my appetite? and is perfectly legal? Tell me.
