2 Feb 2003 Chinese New Year Day 2
The rain gods really have outdone themselves. It has been raining 24 hours straight! My mum and a lot of aunties said that this is good omen. Lotsa rain means lotsa fortune coming our way. Which is good. The rainy weather means we are confined at home. I took a lot of naps and watched a lot of TV. My mum continued feeding us. I think she is secretly enjoying herself making us put on weight. I felt like a pig with no taste buds. I kept eating, but the food is tasteless. What a waste.
One show on TV said something about the fortunes of people with different Chinese zodiacs this Year of the Goat. I am Monkey and my fortune this year is bountiful with money and good people coming to help me. I could not help but felt really good about all these. There was something about single Monkeys getting love this year or attached Monkeys getting married this year too, and I am keeping my fingers crossed. Haha! Ernest is a Horse. His fortune is ok, but there is nothing about heaps of fortune or stuff like that. But at least there are nothing about bad luck or negative forecasts. Which is good.
I called Ernest’s parents in the afternoon to extend my Chinese New Year niceties on them. And I told them I could not visit them because I was sick. Which is partly true because I am really sick. Another part was I really do not know what to say if I visit them and I don’t have money to buy visitation presents for them. Ernest would have said it’s ok, but I somehow felt shy to visit them without Ernest being there. I guess a sincere call to them on Chinese New Year Day 2 will suffice.
I am feeling better, so I took upon myself to wipe and polish the windows. I mean, I really need to do some exercise man. All the food in the tummy would not digest if I keep stationary for 48 hours straight. All the exertion does me real good after all. I got a lot better with one side of my nose able to breathe at the end of the housework. This is good. I will be doing some more housework tomorrow so that I will be better soon.
