1 Feb 2003 Chinese New Year Day 1
Happy Chinese New Year everyone! It has been an exciting year in 2002. Now in this New Year and armed with a degree and a driving license, I have this new confidence I have not before. My New Year resolution for this year is to LOSE WEIGHT. Well, after Chinese New Year celebrations anyway.

Since it is a public holiday for Day 1 and Day 2, my mum has taken the liberty of cooking endless meals to feed us the children. I have actually lost count of meals I have taken. With the leftovers from last night’s seafood steamboat, my mum had actually spin up dishes like seafood horfun, seafood noodles and many more. Lots of creativity indeed.
I could have enjoyed the food a lot, but I fell sick. And very sick too. The weather had too much to drink too and fell down gallons of rain. I guess coupled with too much good food, dreary weather and the absence of Ernest made me sick with dry cough, sore throat and flu. Lethal combination of sickness man…

I could not enjoy the taste of the food and could not go out with my mum and celebrate this joyous occasion, which ironically I have flown back earlier to enjoy. Humph!
The only consolation is the thought of my dad who is enjoying himself back in our grandparent’s place in Malaysia and my sister who is in Kelantan, Malaysia, with her boyfriend and his family.
