You know something is up when your colleague is going for matchmaking. It is fascinating cos I have never been to one before. Mayooran had been 'forced' into taking up a table at a Sri Lankan function because his 'prospective father-in-law' is hosting the dinner. Who else he could ask to go to make up the numbers? Us of course!

The function is actually a reunion dinner of all the ex-Intercontinental Ceylon staff in Sri Lanka and was held in Seven Hills. We drove up for an hour. Since I heard it was going to be a buffet (pronoucn this people, the Aussie way - 'bathe-feiii'), I starved myself sans lunch so that I can be ready to attack at the function. But the drive was too long for me. I got so cranky that I snapped at Chun all the way to the function. Sorry Chun!

The function room was fancy enough. Not too overboard, but the decor was cosy with old staff pictures litrering on the walls of the function room so that people can go around lingering, catching up with old friends and oogling at the picture of the receptionist who has, omigod! put on 20kg...look there she is in real life at that table right over there!

They have a 4 piece live band who rendered classics after classics like New York, New York, Guando, Guando, Guando, etc. People were dancing and laughing and talking and I felt the happiness is all around.

Back to the match making, which is the main reason why we were all here in full force in Seven Hills in the first place. Blue Elephant had done the buffet spread and the girl Mayooran is aiming at is the daughter of the boss, hence why.

But! The girl is not here today! Sian big time. Ah well, nevertheless, we enjoyed the food thoroughly. We Chinese dun really dance, but boy, sure we could cam-whore. Enjoy.
