Makan

These days, my visits to Pondok Buyung is so regular that I swear the auntie behind the counter recognises me. Eh, but how come she never give me discount?

Pondok Buyung is seriously the place to come for some authentic Padang fare with no frills BUT with an Australian price tag. The Indon news/cable playing in the background while tucking into v delicious Indon chup chai peng with equally sweat-inducing chilli sambal and Teh Botol transports you back to Bali immediately. I already had dinners there with Hubby countless times (virtue of the shop just a step and a hop away from our new apartment), with cell groupies and lunches with colleagues (because I have a manager who is nuts about their jackfruit curry).

Sydneysiders who would like to try some Indon fare choosing your dishes from a steaming bain marie on fragrant nasi, do drop by this shop in Kensington. Oh yeah, while you are there, come and say hi to Emi as well.

Did I mention they were featured on SMH??

Sorry no pictures cos always too hungry when I reach there and only remembered when I finished the food. How's that for confirmation that you got to try their food? LOL.
