Stumbled upon Pastor Kong's new blog today. He writes pretty interesting stuff. For a moment, I would have thought a senior reverend of a mega church in Singapore might blog about serious stuff like 'get your act together and go to church' or 'no God, no life' kinda issues, but the things he wrote about can range from his family (he talked alot about Sun, his wife), to his thinking (they are secular thinkings by the way) and to one interesting topic about tattoos.
Those who know me well will know that I have got a tattoo on my back but I have never offer this information to strangers because I still think there is a stigma to why Christians have tattoos when they are suppose to be a shining example to the world and tattoos would be a stumbling block to other non-Christians.
Whilst Pastor is being upfront about his views on tattoos, I am looking to more of his take on more 'taboo' topics such as homosexuality, co-habiting, drinking, smoking, etc. Indeed, to be relevant in the 21st century is very tiring. @_@

I fail to understand why you deliberately made modifications to your body that is may be looked down upon (due to its widespread symbol of belonging to criminal gangs).
Shouldn't you be more of a role model since you're in a position where people look upto (especially the Youth)? I don't know how parents would feel if their children decided they wanted tattoos after they find out that you got a 'cool' tattoo.
unfortunately this is exactly the whiplash I am expecting when I volunteered information like that about myself. I got the tattoo BEFORE I was a Christian, before I knew any better. I am definitely not saying I have got a 'cool' tattoo. Thanks for your comment anyway, Anon. :)
In that case it's a different story (ie. if you got it before you were a Christian).
Sorry, I thought you were saying that you had recently got one. =)
