We went to:
1) Sun Moon Lake 日月潭 in Tai zhong
Visited the beautiful wen2 wu3 temple 文武庙 on top of the hill overlooking the lake.
文武庙's 文 is Confucious. He is our Chinese saint of knowledge.
文武庙's 武 is 关圣帝君 and 岳武穆王. Did you see I tried to lift 关公's big knife? Nope, I didn't manage to lift it one bit.
日月潭 is just too foggy in the morning. But I thought it is so beautiful! Our tour leader ask us to imagine Taiwan's first leader Chiang Kai-shek bringing his lovely first lady Song Meiling to this very spot we are standing on to see the lake.
2) Lunch at Ceramic Town's noodle place. Not very sure what the name of the restaurant but the seafood noodles we had was cooked out of ceramic pots and the flavour is out of this world.
The FOC plum juice is yummy!
3) 九份 Jiufen, north of Taiwan
It's a place that I like very much when I visited with Ernest the last time. We spent a large part of our trip the last time hiding from the rain in a cosy cafe overlooking the valley & we had the most fantastic view of the sea.
This time round though, there's no rain. Good.
The view! The view! The view!
4) We ended this lovely day with a shiok-edelic Taiwanese steamboat dinner. Is there any different to all steam boat dinners? Yes. For starters, they have the cutest fishcakes I have ever seen. They provide diners with pork mince topped rice and they have cute little cups where you can put sauces in for dipping.
