Lunch out

It seems that we are now having this nice lunch out sessions every Friday. It is indeed a nice chnage from the stressful busy office and the fact that MonkeyCrab brought us to this secret hiding place of hers really transported us far far far away from office into this magical 1 hour of lunch overlooking the beautiful Maroubra beach.

To me, this cafe looks like it came straight out of a story book. It's beautiful!


From the time we parked the car and walked to the cafe, we probably has wistfully whined to each other 100 times how we wish we need not go back to office after lunch. The day is so sunny, so beautiful!



The menu consists of course of seafood. A lot of Italian dishes such as pastas and risottos. The kitchen was a open concept kind and it showcases a group of good-looking chefs and cooks in chef's uniform seating over the stoves for our food.

Yummy-smelling food, good beach views, lovely company for lunch, what else can you ask for?

I had a hard time deciding what I wanted for lunch. I initially wanted to try the seared scallops & salad, but then the seafood tapas called out to me.

After looking at another side of the page, I really want to try the grilled barramundi. After much thinking, I have decided on the barramundi with salad on the side. The girls were teasing me about my indecision and prompted me into choosing my lunch blind-style.


If I let my fingers do the walking, they chose for me the healthy fruit salad.


Lucky I have decided to go with the fish instead.

And the ultra sour raspberry & mango frappe that woke me up better than any coffee I have tasted.


The rest of the girls had the seafood tapas I was drooling over before and you can see why. The green pesto sauce is seriously to-die for.


And the seared scallops salad which I had no pictures for. My colleague said there's scallops in every turn of the fork. Which is wow.

After the satisfying lunch, on the way back to the office, we chatted about the cartoon programmes we have been watching since young and we wondered exactly what happened to them now.

Like for example, smurfs. Doesn't it occur to you that they dun really eat? Or go toilet? Or have haircuts? And they male smurfs have no nipples even though they are topless? We laughed our head off over that observation.

And we mulled over He-man, Madelaine, Sesame Street, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 7 Captain Planet. Can you still remember Captain Planet?

Ah, after lunch musings. I love Fridays even more now. ^-^/
