The Twilight After

The movie was quite good to my standards. It is impossible to read a Stephanie Myer 500 page book into a 2 hour movie so I can understand why some movie critics being so hard on the movie. Rotten Tomato website did not even passed the movie at all. But I like it and Ernest (he has not read the books) thought it is pretty straight forward. Without spoiling the plot, it's just a girl falling in love with a vampire who does not drink the blood of humans and they are so in love.

I thought Robert Pattinson did a very decent job on depicting Edward Cullen. I was surprise to learn that he acted as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. He looked so different then! Now he is all grown up and pale as what the character is asking for. I guess working in a story book-turned-movie in his resume helps in snagging this Edward Cullen role. He look really different too in real life. I prefer how he looked in the movie.

If you asked me if there is a fair comparison between Harry Potter movies and Twilight, I can tell you Harry Potter is really for older children and teenagers. No matter how dark critics has been rating Harry Potter movies, I think Twilight turned out to be darker. The storyline, the characters and the movie in its entirety has made the Twilight series way darker than Harry Potter. If you say Twilight series are for teenagers, I would disagree. Even me a grown woman reading the book gets disturbed after reading the books, let alone teenagers. But I really like it and I am glad Ernest bought me the books. I think I might be re-read the series again soon. Slower this time. Heh.
