5.12.2008:The Day to Remember

Funny how it is easy to forget how hard a journey is when you are at a destination already.

Ernest and I got our PR label firmly sticked on our passports today. It signifies so many things. Ernest told me his foot steps are lighter now. His sights on the city is somehow brighter, although he is pretty sure nothing much is changed actually.

For me, it signifies a brighter tomorrow, a better sleep at night, and a confirmation that God does work miracles, always just in time.

As we combed the city yesterday looking for to be registered as Medicare member, laughing, we are slowly healed of all the pain and all the crying we have been through to get here.

And Christmas does indeed come early for me this year. I received my Christmas presents from Ernest already. Presents, not present. Thank you Ernest.

Check it out.
1) He bought for me a Bvlgari ring! It is beautiful!

'Merry Christmas!'

Who wants the blue Tiffany box when you can get the black Bvlgari box?

Wah! Isn't it pretty?

Fits like a glove

2) Ernest bought for me a whole set of the Twilight series. He knew I love books of this sort and I raved about LOTR series for a while and also read Harry Potter to heart. Now the latest craze is Twilight and so he figured I will like it too and bought the whole set. I love it! I can still remember the world Ann Rice brought me to in her interpretation of vampires and I am sure Twilight, which is so famous in US, will bring me many nights of joy.

We went for a celebratory dinner of sorts at Doumo Japanese Restaurant at World Square. I saw that the sign says 'The best Sapporo Ramen in Japan' and we were excited about that claim. When we were seated, we knew that we were cheated. This is not even Japanese lor! They played Korean songs! But we were so hungry that we decided to let it go. The food is passable (Ramen-Kan is still the best) and the waitress tried to give us soy sauce and wasabi to go with our salmon avocado salad. Wrong again. And I overheard an Aussie said 'domo arigato' to the waitress. I guess Korean songs sounded like Japanese songs to the uninformed Aussies.
