I think I am dreaming but I am not
It is awfully cold in Sydney right now. The news had broadcasted that yesterday, today and tomorrow will be the coldest days in Sydney winter. My fingers are shaking in my chilly bedroom even though I am under a warm duvet. Yes, I am too cheapskate to buy a heater; and besides, heaters are not good for your skin.
Sometimes, I feel I am more busy in Sydney than in Singapore. And it is laughable because I have more friends and family in Singapore, but I only have a handful of friends and a full time job to busy myself with in Sydney. In between working full time in Rex and juggling church, church mates and dance classes, my life has never been so colourful and interesting.
Take this week for example.
The annual Hillsongs Conference is in full swing this week, right before the World Youth Day (/week. They should really rename it World Youth Week. It is happening for 7 days, right?!) SHC is hosting some delegates from CHC and they are none other than.....kid you not.....Pastor Derek, Pastor Aries, KC (KC!!!!!) and a few other lesser known CHC leaders.
If you attend CHC, you would understand that all my years being a member of CHC in Singapore, I never had a chance to hold a conversation with Pastor Derek and/or Pastor Aries. They are like the number 3 & 4 dai gors of CHC and before you can even pretend to stand near them in church because you really think they are great leaders of the church, the security guy will wave you off like a fly on a delicious plate of chicken rice.
And KC. Man...KC!!! All the songs we have sang and worship God with....Hold Me Close...Sanctuary...they are all written by our Mr KC from CHC. Talk about personalities. When I was in CHC, I could only see him perform on stage on his electric guitar and looking sauve.
And today, we had dinner together! Pastor John sms-ed 'Dinner tonight with pastors. See you there' Oohh....we had to go.
We had a lovely dinner/supper at Golden Century in the city. I was beside myself with excitement as I ordered the dishes (for the pastors!!) and was really happy when Pst Derek remembered that he married Ernest and I 2 years ago.
When we finished all the food and the pastors said thanks to me for the food I have choosen for them, I nearly fainted of happiness.
Outside the restaurant, I was standing next to the pastors and made small talk about the cold weather versus Singapore weather and couldn't help but thinking, 'Wow, I am talking to the pastors face to face man! Where is the security now?' I am pretty stoked by then and was hopping and skipping inside when pastors bide us good night and reminded us to come back to Singapore soon to visit.
Yes, I am anal. But who can boast of having dinner with Pst Derek & Pst Aries in Sydney in winter and not forgetting KC?! Man, this is so unreal.
