A dinner appointment with Jeannette and Patrick was set for this wonderful day. We decided to add fried rice to the menu.
Watched ‘Master of Disguise’ and it was a downright senseless comedy. Really, what can you expect when the producer is Adam Sandler?
Borrowed our mode of transport from Alyvn. What a nice guy. Just sold his Ford Festiva, but he is willing to lend us for a couple of hours for the dinner.
It was a nice dinner with
1) Fried Rice
2) Papadum
3) Spring Rolls
4) Saya lodeh (mmm….)
5) Tau suan with (gasp!) you tiao
6) Almond jelly with fake sugar fruits
The worst thing that can happen to you to ruin this perfect day is to have your friend’s car not starting on you when you are stranded in Cooparoo. Well, not too bad, EXCEPT THAT HE JUST SOLD THE CAR THIS AFTERNOON.
It was really a blessing in disguise that Alyvn has RACQ membership and the mechanic came down at about 1am to announce that the problem was acid built up around the battery. After a hose down, the car started and we can finally go home. What a nightmare.
